IN OCTOBER 2016, I GOT A JOB AS A STOREKEEPER AT L3 MAS.

I am currently working at the Petawawa military base in Ontario, where the company provides support and testing equipment for the CH-147F Chinook helicopter. Upon my arrival, I was impressed by the way I was welcomed. All L3 MAS employees were happy to meet me, and I immediately felt like a team member. Of course, I was nervous when I arrived.

My job requires constant attention to detail to provide the best possible service to the technicians on the base. When I have doubts, I consult my team and always get their support. At no time did anyone leave me alone with a problem. I love my job. I am proud to represent L3 MAS during my interactions with our customers and ensure that I deliver quality and standard-compliant tools, since they will be used for the important tasks of repairing the helicopters.

What comes to mind quickly when I think of L3 MAS is the flexibility they provide for balancing work and personal life. For example, if I have a family emergency, the company offers me several possibilities and there is always someone from my team to help out. It is a very important thing that I greatly appreciate.

THE FIRST DAY AT WORK IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE HIRING PROCESS FOR NEW EMPLOYEES.

The way we welcome employees is the first impression they get, and it will determine their commitment to their new role and new employer. The preparation for their arrival begins several weeks in advance. Before handing them the hospitality package, there are several administrative issues to be addressed: coordinating efforts with security to access the building, creating access to computer equipment, and preparing their workplace. As a manager, I make it a point to greet new employees myself. It is important that they know from the outset that they are a valuable resource for the organization and that we appreciate their contribution.
