WE FIND PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS THAT BRING REAL VALUE TO OUR CUSTOMERS
Case study: Robotics solutions for aircraft structural repairs
L3 MAS has developed a unique integrated robotic system that can be used for modification and life extension of critical aircraft structures. This system provides outstanding machining, surface treatment, quality inspection, and many other capabilities directly on the aircraft. The results are practical and economical solutions using a “surgical” approach, offering a far superior option to the traditional costly and time-consuming replacement of major aircraft structures. Recently L3 MAS brought this technology to a new level by developing a unique solution to salvage F/A-18 Hornet centre barrel sections and other critical parts. The on-aircraft, full-life solution was able to restore the required structural integrity and saved millions of dollars and years of aircraft downtime for one of our international customers.
