L3 Warrior Sensor Systems Receives First International Contract for BNVD-1531 Binocular

March 5, 2018

The BNVD-1531 Combines Key Features of the AN/PVS-15 and AN/PVS-31 Night Vision Goggles in a Smaller, Lightweight Solution

LONDONDERRY, N.H., March 5, 2018 – L3 Warrior Sensor Systems has been awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to deliver its latest night vision binocular, the Binocular Night Vision Device (BNVD-1531), to a Canadian government agency. Introduced to the market less than a year ago, the BNVD-1531 offers a lightweight, ergonomic design similar to the AN/PVS-31 at a system weight significantly reduced over the AN/PVS-15 binocular, all at a market competitive price.

The BNVD-1531 exemplifies the company’s drive for continuous product improvements in the areas of size, weight, performance and power consumption. It incorporates features such as adjustable diopters, manual gain adjustment, individually rotating monoculars and an integrated infrared illuminator, all of which enhance situational awareness, enabling operators to conduct missions more effectively and efficiently.

“The BNVD-1531 adds a new dimension of capability to our extensive portfolio of night vision solutions,” said Serge Buchakjian, General Manager of International Solutions for Warrior Sensor Systems. “By combining the features most sought after by our customers, the BNVD-1531 is the best-value solution to deliver night vision capability that is interchangeable across multiple users in a variety of operational environments.”

The BNVD-1531 is manufactured in Londonderry, New Hampshire, by L3 Warrior Sensor Systems, which is part of the company’s Sensor Systems business segment. The binocular includes high-performance Gen III image-intensification tubes from L3’s Electron Tube Operations facility in Tempe, Arizona. The BNVD-1531 has also been adopted by a number of U.S. government agencies.
